Background: Tom is the current acting leader of the PKF; he was raised in Arizona but born in Connecticut. Tom is always ready for a fight and has a strong sense of duty which frequently gets him in trouble at school. Tom was trained by his mother alongside Hana and Sam, despite the fact that they are almost on the same level Tom always tries to keep his friends safe, frequently putting himself in danger on their behalf. After his defeat of Roto, Tom has gained a kind of celebrity status among NIS groups and has become a poster boy for the war effort.

Highlight for Book One Spoilers:
Classified information says that Tom's mental state may be degrading due to an unknown cause. Tom posses both extra levels of energy (something that NO ONE else has) and has a tendency to delve inwards and lose control of his body, releasing a powerful berserker state that allows him to do a great deal of damage...but it makes him dangerous to all those around him. Tom's imaginary friend Chris may be an actual entity causing the mental degradation...though that fact is unsupported by any real evidence. Tom feels that these things are all related and due to this he has decided to continue to fight against the Kayooshen and everything else that would try to hurt his home.
